Can an Austrian digital vignette start immediately?
It depends on the product and how you buy it. Austria's 1-day and 10-day digital vignettes can have immediate validity.
For private consumers buying 2-month or annual digital vignettes online through ASFINAG, the start date is generally no earlier than the 18th day after purchase, because of consumer withdrawal rules — a distinction that matters especially for last-minute journeys.
What about special toll roads?
The vignette covers most Austrian motorways and expressways for eligible vehicles, but certain Alpine routes have additional section tolls.
